Change #1: Eight Best Results

Previously, the five best results over two years counted towards one's ranking. Beginning in 2007, the top eight results will count toward one's ranking.


Change #2: FPA Worlds Open Division Points

Previously, points for performance in Open Pairs and Open Co-op at the FPA Worlds were combined into one point total for the rankings. Bonus points were split across the two divisions. Beginning in 2007, Open Pairs and Open Co-op will count as separate point totals toward the rankings. Each division will allocate full bonus points as though it were a separate tournament.


Change #3: Point Scales

The point scales for tournaments beginning in January 2007 have been changed. Previous point scales were not mathematically related to one another. The new system uses a base point scale. This scale is used for Regular tournaments that have at least twenty entrants. Other point scales are proportionally higher or lower based on their impact/importance.

Regular tournaments with 15-19 competitors are worth 80% of the base scale. Regular tournaments with 10-14 entrants are worth 65% of the base scale. Regular tournaments with 4-9 competitors are worth 505 of the base scale.

Pro tournaments (non-European and non-North American national championships plus other designated events like Paganello) are worth 120% of the base scale. WFDF and US Open championships are worth 140% of the base scale. The FPA Worlds are worth 160% of the base scale.
