On a glorious summer evening in Cologne, the local freestylers (joined by John Coxhead from the UK) head out for a jam. As they play, Sacha Scherzinger pulls out of the bag what may well be a new move... not only this, he goes on to repeat it several times... see for yourself... (name suggestions welcome!)
If you have performed this move, or a similar one, or have seen somebody else pull it off, leave a comment!
PS: I've added the Google Translation tool on my Blog... so if you want to follow it in English, click on the "English frisbee" on the right or here's the direct link!
UK Freestyler John Coxhead recently participated in his University's Talent Show 'UCLAN's GOT TALENT'. Under the moniker of Frisboy, John out-performed the other 50 acts and took 1st place in the contest! A video of his performance at the live final (which took place in 1500 capacity venue) can be seen below.
As a result, the profile of Frisbee Freestyle was hugely boosted across the the university campus which is home to 30,000 students.
His winning routine at the live final is also his audition for a bigger, national competition called 'UNI's GOT TALENT'. The event, which is due to get full TV coverage, will be a fantastic opportunity to publicise Frisbee Freestyle all over the UK. Please VOTE at this link (it's free!) to get Frisboy entered into the Grand Final... http://www.unisgottalent.com/video/133/Frisboy--UCLAN
Indulge me for a bit. As I prepare for my fifth trip to Rimini and my third to Paganello, I find myself remembering my first trip. Watching the Secrets of Pro Disc Freestyle Volume 2 this week, I saw some footage I had never seen from the 2003 FPAW pairs final. Z's footage. Fabio sent me his footage a long time ago, but I had not seen any other angles. There are just a few clips on Vol 2, but Z posted the whole thing (3 of the 4 minutes of the routine) on YouTube this week. Thanks Z.
Rimini is very special to me, mostly for the people I have met there and the friendships that deepen every time I return. It's also special because of the 2003 FPAW pairs title Dave and I won there. It was the first FPA pairs title won in Europe, but more than that it was the competitive round I still consider our peak. Conditions were horrible. Pressure was on. And somehow we both found the zone.

Here is a sneak preview from the soon to be released Secrets of Pro Disc Freestyle Volume 2.
Z Weyand and I each had our personal missions on this new DVD. It was my goal to include a clear and easy to follow section defining and demonstrating consecutivity on our 2nd DVD. Here it is at last.
In my opinion, Consecutivity is the most powerful technique there is to improve your overall freestyle game. But a lot of players are confused about what is really consecutive. I think the reason it has been misunderstood is that the word itself doesn't describe what one should focus on.
That's why Z and I decided to rename this technique CONNECTIVITY. The technique focuses on connecting moves together. It focuses on linking moves together without breaking up your combo with the basic "the" nail delay or with any other breaks in flow such as long pauses or hesitations. A player should focus on connecting the moves, the combos, the co-ops. Hence the term Connectivity.
Anyway, check out the segment. This video is just the beginning of what can be said of Connectivity. There will be more to come in in the future. Also Arthur Coddington's article The Year of Consecutivity is a great description as well.
Fabio Sanna got into the zone in the semis of pairs at Paganello and hit huge moves with such mastery that they looked standard. Keep in mind that Tommy's playing well in this round too, but Fabio keeps upping the ante. Double spinning arvon. Bad attitude hold directly into invert, then skid, leading to a double spinning barrel gitis. Double spinning skid. Flamingitises. Playing both spins. With no wind to help him out. They didn't win the round, but Fabio's 4 minutes might have been the performance of the tournament.
