Dear Jammers,
It’s been a while but we are delighted to announce a new season of releases from DiscCast (the Frisbee Freestyle PodCast).
Over the coming weeks and months expect to hear from a range of freestyle experts, including some of the earliest people to grasp a disc in the 60’s and several of the greatest players to decorate the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s with their stunning skills. These PodCasts, as we explain at the beginning of this episode, replace the DiscCast Decade project that had been slated for release last year.
In this first release, John and Joe meet Dan ‘Stork’ Roddick to discuss the beginnings of freestyle disc play…

of competitive play and gives his views on the nature of judging, pointing out
some lessons that might be learnt from the way freestyle developed in the 70’s.

Hello All,
The first in series of festive speicals from the DiscCast team, the latest DiscCast Extra features a short interview with legendary female freestyler Gina Sample. Gina had a huge impact upon the sport in the 80’s and 90’s, and is the only female player in history to win an Open Pairs FPA World Title.
There’ll be more to come from Gina in the not-too-distant future with the highly anticipated DiscCast Decade episodes, but until then, we hope you enjoy this winter’s specials.

UK Freestyler John Coxhead recently participated in his University’s Talent Show ‘UCLAN’s GOT TALENT’. Under the moniker of Frisboy, John out-performed the other 50 acts and took 1st place in the contest! A video of his performance at the live final (which took place in 1500 capacity venue) can be seen below.
As a result, the profile of Frisbee Freestyle was hugely boosted across the the university campus which is home to 30,000 students.
His winning routine at the live final is also his audition for a bigger, national competition called ‘UNI’s GOT TALENT’. The event, which is due to get full TV coverage, will be a fantastic opportunity to publicise Frisbee Freestyle all over the UK. freestylers over the last few decades. Somebody who won 5 FPA World titles in
the space of just 3 years and is famous throughout the global freestyle
community thanks to his appearance in the 2003 Nike commercial; it is Dave
Murphy! Dave talks about how he discovered the sport, his views on its current
situation, and reveals a big secret from the set of the Nike commercial. Enjoy!
